HIS EXCELLENCYALHAJI YAHAYA BELLOTHE EXECUTIVE GOVERNORKOGI STATEATTENTION: CHIEF OF STAFFPharm Asuku JamiuTHE STAKE OF YAGBA-WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL IN NEW DIRECTION POLICY OF KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT

I wish to congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for your recent swearing-in as the Executive Governor of Kogi State, your success in the last election is a divine arrangement to do more of justice, equity and upliftment of standard of living of the citizen of Kogi State.Your emergence which is shrouded in divine mystery was properly elucidated in my Book “The Finger of God” published in 2018 on page 90 that “God is not a political rabble rouser or interloper, for every government he enthrones a man there for a purpose and until that purpose is achieved the leader remains, but after the completion of the purpose the leader is done away with” from beginning am persuaded that, you are a leader with God’s purpose. This purpose which is copiously displayed in balancing of appointments, equitably must not be weakened.2. I wanted to write this letter before the announcement of your cabinet, but I refrained myself because of erroneous insinuation that one is soliciting or looking for appointment as Commissioner in your cabinet. Our stake in this administration, is to render advice where necessary; to project this administration in the right direction.3. To God be the glory, I was a Commissioner in charge of Solid Minerals in Kogi State at the age of 36 years, and I belief in the fact that positions of Commissioners and Chairmen of Local Government Councils are for persons below the age of 50 years, being a time of strength and vigor and a time to properly articulate  State policy.4. I salute your courage to establish Ministry of Solid Minerals Resources, it is a Ministry that is full of potentials to uplift the economic development of Kogi State. As principal adviser to this Government, in our professional and career callings, we have been given our valuable advice on various governmental issues to your appointees on good governance at various times.5. Your Excellency Sir, I wish to passionately appeal to consider the present marginalization of Yagba-West Local Government Council in the scheme of things in Kogi State.6. Presently, it is the only Local Government that is not represented in the State Exco in the Western Senatorial District despite the fact that it is a Local Government endowered with human material resources.7. We are not aware whether there is a propaganda against the Local Government in Government circle that makes our stake in this Government to be so retarded that for 4 years of New Direction Government, the Local Government was only given Special Advisers status in Government.8. Our hope of having a place in cabinet position in this new era has been defeated again despite our efforts in giving your election a resounding performance.9. Our request is not to say that people appointed into your cabinet from other Local Governments  does not worth it, by their loyalty to you, and your Government; what we are requesting for is justice and equity in providing for, filling the gap, for Yagba-West in the deficiency that has occurred in the last appointment.10. What we are saying, is what our brothers from Yagba-East and Mopa-Amuro would say if they are in our present State of despondency, and we are always our brothers’ keeper.11. Your Excellency, it is our appeal that you should consider our sons and daughters into executive positions (that we can be proud of) that we are stakeholders in this New Direction Government.12. Our non representation in State cabinet, is telling on our interest in most affairs of the State. As a cabinet member before, am persuaded and with no lota of falsehood that absence of a Local Government in State Exco for 8 years, can be catastrophic and trajedic, in our political nepotic system where every one for himself and God is for all. If things are done equitably, fairly and considerably with sense of responsibility no one would be agitating for this since all Local Governments cannot be represented in State Exco.  Most issues that are decided upon, have Yagba-West left behind because no one to talk our matter. These are numerous to mention, Your Excellency.13. In this dimension Sir, we are making you our representation on Yagba-West matters in all areas of Governance and we know you will not disappoint us as our Ambassador.14. We are pledging our unflinching loyalty and support for this Government as we have always been doing since your administration.15. It is our belief that our clearing of land for farming and the cultivation of heaps for the planting of our seeds should not be speedily forgotten, just because some people came to plant on it even when our crops have started growing.16. This support we have been given, as loyal party members, that have toiled and abused by many, when protecting your Government, and our Party, should not be in vain.Giving the assurances of our professional and party loyalty in highest esteem.Barr. Dele .O. Suru (ACIArb)( Provost)
