Hon. Segun Olobatoke’s Christmas Package for the widows across Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency is a complete full dosage, enough to put smile in every household in this festive season.
According to him, the gesture was devoid of any political colouration, adding that his quest was borne out of his passion for charity and the stark reality on ground especially in our rural communities.
In his words, Olobatoke said “I know what it means for someone to be sick, homeless or to live in a house with a leaking roof, or to be hungry especially during festive season as this. wealth would be meaningless if it cannot be used to better the lives of the needy”.
”I would also want to implore the rich and wealthy in our society to come to the aid of the poor in the society through several interventions like provide jobs creation for the youths; build skills acquisition centres for willing adults, market stalls for men and women and others on. Don’t give to get, give to inspire. I am therefore, appealing to every one of us to make a paradigm shift by adopting a selfless approach in our giving attitude” he said.
Also speaking with our source, the wife Mrs Folashade Olobatoke also compliments the activities of her husband. She said “Let the culture of giving cheerfully to the less privileged ones with no string attached be our hallmark. We must not wait till we have excess before we give, the little we give today may be the miracle somebody is expecting to launch him or her to greatness. Therefore, we should learn to give even from the little God has blessed us with.” she said.
