Easter Celebration: Pray For Security of Nigeria, Olujumu Tells Christians

The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State HRM, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni (JP) has urged Christians to use the occasion of this year’s Easter Celebration which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pray for the Security of the country.

Oba Ayeni who made the call in his Easter Message made available to Newsmen in Lokoja, the State Capital, said Nigeria needs Divine intervention following the killings, attacks and kidnappings bedeviling the nation.

The Ijumu Paramount Ruler explained that nothing is impossible with prayer, urging Nigerians to pray for the peace and stability of the country.

According to him, there’s need to also pray for the victory of Security Agencies fighting insurgency as well as leaders at all levels to lead the nation right.

He stressed the need for Nigerians to imbibe selflessness and sacrificial living in their daily lives, saying Jesus Christ is a selfless leader, who sacrificed his life for the sins of mankind.

Oba Ayeni told Christians to use the period for sober reflection by making amends where necessary and emulate the virtues of Christ which include love, selflessness, compassion and humility.

The Ijumu Paramount Oba noted that the Celebration of Easter is not complete without giving and urged Christians to use the festival to give especially to the needy.

The Olujumu Congratulated the people of Ijumu both home and in the Diaspora, Kogi State and Nigeria in general, assuring of his continued commitment to justifying the confidence of Ijumu people on him by maintaining peace and progress in his domain.
