Ahead of Ekuechi festival in Okene, the Executive Chairman of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad convey a security meeting with top traditional and community leaders from Okengwe district to fashion out modalities of celebrating violent free Ekuechi festivals.
The Council Chairman emphasized on the need for all to put hands on deck to ensure the security of lives and property are sustained. He cautioned youths not act under the influence of alcohol, hard drugs and other substances to cause problem during the festivals as security agencies have already been detailed to do the needful.
While identifying some flash points within Okengwe district that harboured criminals, the council boss assured the people that government will swing into action immediately. He advised traditional rulers to always maintain decorum and respect constituted authority in all their dealings.
The Ohi of Okengwe/Okene, district head of Okengwe, traditional rulers and other stakeholders made useful submition that will ensure peace during and after the Ekuechi festival.
