The Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area Council and Kogi State ALGON Chairman,Hon. Taufiq Isa,has recruited local hunters as the herdsmen crisis, armed robbery and kidnappers across the country worsens.
The Executive Chairman made the disclosure earlier today,while urging local vigilantes,hunters, ex-servicemen, traditional rulers, herbalist,pastors, clerics to join him in fighting all forms of criminality in the area.
The newly recruited hunters will be distributed across the borders of Ijumu Local Government Area.
The Executive Chairman also said funds will be sourced out for the for procurement of vehicles and motorcycles and communications gadgets,adding that a certain amount of money will be paid to each of them at the end of every month.
Hon. Taufiq also said,the recruitment of local hunters would further fortify the existing security architecture in the local government and complement the effort of the Federal and State Governments.
