Kogi State ALGON Chairman immortalises Pa Oguntebi, Commissions Ijumu LGA Executive Council Hall

The Kogi State ALGON Chairman and Administrator of Ijumu Local Government, Hon.Taufiq Isa today commissions the Executive Council Hall at the local government Secretariat, Iyara.

The Director of Local Government, Bro O.J Dare who gave the brief description of the hall as as a long over due project but timely. He notes that one of the legacy the management and the Administrative team will be leaving behind is a befitting hall where crucial meeting encompassing large number of people will be held.

The Council Hall was named after Pa Samuel Oladele Oguntebi with the aim of immortalizing him.

Pa Samuel Oguntebi was born in the year 1839, He was a foremost educationist and influential in raising prominent people across the country, Notably among them are, Gen. David Jemibewon (Rtd), Col. Toba, Bishop Oyedepo was one of his student, Professors, Engineer and various people in various fields of work.
According to him, Baba was one of those influential in creating Ijumu Local Government from the then Oyi Local Government of Kwara State.
Pa Oguntebi was the Secretary Ijumu Progressive Union which later turned to Ijumu Development Union (IDU).Baba was one of those who make Iyara the headquarter of Ijumu Local Government.

The H.O.D Works appreciated the Administrator for giving him the enabling environment to work and he is ready to do more.

The Administrator appreciated the management team for their cooperation and understanding. He pledge to upgrade this hall to a befitting standard with the name of the man of which it is immortalized.
The council boss equally use the opportunity to thank the family of Oguntebi for his legacy.

The Kogi State ALGON Chairman has also directed the NULGE Chairman to start monitoring the Local Government workers as henceforth there will be no excuse for absenteeism.
