Local government councils elections in kogi state, 90 days after, no results-Activist

Conscience for Human Rights and conflict resolution Lokoja kogi state, Comrade Idris Miliki Abdul has expressed worries over the local government council elections held in December 2020 and till date the election umpires have not made the results of the elections available.

This was contained in a statement made available to the media in Lokoja on Thursday.

The elections conducted into the local government councils in kogi state on the 12 December 2020, the state Independence electoral commission SIEC is yet to release the results to the public.

Despite colossal amount claim to have been spent on that cangaroo elections, in a digital age by the state government,SIEC in the state have website.

Investigation carried out and the complaint receive by CHRCR, many of those engaged during that period that performed one role or the other are yet to be paid their entitlement, which is corruption. Despite the huge amount provided in the 2020 budget. For the purpose of record, research and and documentation, transparency and accountability.

We call on the kogi state Independence electoral commission and the states government to release without further delay the statistical and data of the local government councils election conducted on the 12 December 2020.
