Oworo King Makers, Land Committee Dissolved

The Oworo King Makers in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State have been dissolved with immediate effect.

The dissolution of the King Makers Chaired by the Maiyaki of Oworo land, Chief Gabriel Ehimoni followed allegations ranging from insubordination, forgery among others levelled against them.

Also, the Committee on Land in Oworo Kingdom which is headed by the Maiyaki of Oworo land has also been suspended.

These were parts of the resolution of a meeting of Community Heads and Title Holders held at the Palace of the Olu of Oworo at Jakura.

The meeting is the first since the Olu of Oworo land returned to Jakura, the seat of Power of the Agbosi ruling House.

Top on the agenda includes; Mal-administration of land belonging to Oworo Kingdom, farmers herders crisis, integration of the five ruling houses for unity, peace, growth and development of Oworo land.

The Olu Oworo, Oba Mohammed Adoga Baiyerohi while speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, said the suspension of the King Makers and the Committee on Land became imperative based on the need to protect the integrity of Oworo Kingdom.

Oba Baiyerohi noted that after proper investigations, the persons concern have been found wanting of forgery, falsification of documents and attention to run a parallel traditional institution against the Olu of Oworo stool.

The Monarch pointed out that the offences were too serious and cannot be allowed to continue without being tamed, saying several attempts made to invite the Maiyaki of Oworo land to react to the allegations proved abortive as he refused to honour invitations.

In his submission, the Obaro of Jakura, Oba Usman Ajibola Adoga said the Culture and traditions of Oworo land shows that the Paramout Ruler is the custodian of all the land in Oworo Kingdom.

Obaro Ajibola Adoga noted that the suspension of the Committee is in the interest of the entire people of Oworo especially the young generation.

Also speaking, the Obahaye of Oworo land, Chief Sam Abenemi noted with satisfaction that the dissolution of the King Makers and Committee on Land headed by Chief Gabriel Ehimoni was for the purpose of fair play, justice and unity.

Chief Abenemi called on the people of Oworo to give maximum cooperation to the Oworo Paramout ruler to enable him achieve his vision for the development of the district.
