Following the resumption of schools in Kogi State for exiting students, Dr. Habeeb Yaqueen, Kogi State Chairman of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Nigeria, ( NAPPS ), has described the turnout of Students on the first day as encouraging.
Dr Habeeb stated this in a chat with Thenigerianpost, said he is happy that private school Proprietors in the state have met the safety protocols for schools’reopening.
He said in most schools visited teaching he stressed has commenced immidiately, says he hope that in the coming days normalcy would return with all Students on there seats.
He described the decision to reopen schools as very justified, said the covid19 pandemic has opened up a new chapter in doing things differently in the Education sector..
Dr Habeeb thanked God that the pandemic is globally easing out, said the pandemic has come to teach new lessons in public gatherings, the introduction of virtual learning, said the need to incorporate real science and technology in the schools curriculum is now.
He advised that Covid19 has stressed the need for the nation to deemphasize certificate, says what is obtainable is for Students to be taught skills and on the need to train them to acquire relevant skills for the nation’s development.
