Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been sworn in as Governor of Kogi State for another four years in office, thanked the people of the state for voting for him overwhelmingly, urged them to look into the new administration with optimism.The governor was sworn in at exactly 11:58am by the Kogi State Chief Judge, Nasiru Ajanah in Glass House of government house Lokoja after the oath taking.Gov. Bello in an address at the occasion, appreciated the people of the state for finding him worthy of re election, promised to do things in a new way in tackling insecurity, corruption, urged them toThe governor promised improved infrastructure and other milestone projects that would make life meaningful for the people said the cardinal goal of his administration would be to make it an emerging giant in agriculture and socio economic development.While promising to do more in the second term, said he has no reason to fail the people, said he would through partnership, to provide prosperity to the people, said he would open up the frontiers of government to render selfless service.While assuring that he would continue to be fair in the distribution of resources and appointment, promised to continue to make youths and women cardinal in his administration.While noting that his administration improved the state internally generated revenue from N350m to N1.4b, said his administration was able to achieve the feat through blocking of leakages and corruption, promised to remain transparent and accountable in the discharge of his duties to the people.The governor said he will upgrade the bureau of information services to a full fledged ministry so as to give the media sector a pride of place, said his first term administration gave facelift to the state radio, and graphics newspaper.Gov. Bello assured of a robust and cordial working relationship with the civil service, said their salaries and welfare of the workers would be sustained and improved upon, said rural water and electrification would be ensured by his administration.The Governor said agriculture would be given the desired support to make the state a food hub, said rice, cassava, said the state would in the new tenure build the largest ethanol industry, promised to reduce communal crisis to enable Farmers make gains.Gov.
