Communities in Kogi Ganaja, Kotokarfe and Kupa both in Lokoja and Kotokarfe Local Government areas and other parts of Kogi state, have cried out over the absence of Senator Dino Melaye at the Senate. And the inability of NEMA to address the current emergency flooding around Kogi state.

The Communities whose feelings was conveyed, after extensive survey of the flooded areas of Lokoja, Koton-Karfe,Ibaji and other riverine areas, recall the days of Melaye where issues like the current flood situation will be addressed and treated as urgent and of national importance in the floor of the Senate. community leader who spoke with the OUR SOURCE on condition of anonymity.

The affected communities expressed regrets on the absence of the workaholic and outspoken Senator Dino Melaye, over the flood incidence that has brought untold hardships and loss of lives, assets and valuables, OUR SOURCE reports.

‘It is saddening that both the federal and state officials have remained quiet over the dire issue.

Senator Dino Melaye’s humanitarian and social services as well as advocacy for good governance and social amenities is being missed by both constituents and the nation at large. His vocal and outspoken personality is one to be missed.

The communities recall how the former Senator stood and spoke for them at senate bringing awareness to their plights. Mandating the then Senate to take action, and personally palliate their suffering, which includes the provision of relief materials, cash donations and provision of temporary shelters for the flood victims.
