The Secretary to Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Alex Ropo Ibikunle says the purported suspension of the Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area by some party officials is dead on arrival.
Hon. Ibikunle while reacting to the purported suspension described the move as fruitless effort that cannot see the light of the day.
According to him, the officials have no power under the Constitution of the party to suspend Alhaji Taofiq Isa whom he said has paid his dues and laid a solid foundation for the APC to succeed in Ijumu, Kogi State and Nigeria.
He stated that “Article 21 (a) of the Party’s Constitution said that
Ward Executive shall be the adjudicatory body of first
instance over complaint and or allegation from the Polling Unit
This Hon. Ibikunle noted was not followed, saying the plan of the Caretaker Chairman, Secretary, Women Leader and Youth Leader is an effort in futility and a cry of sinking elements.
The Secretary said Alhaji Taofiq Isa is a respected party man with proven integrity, describing all the allegations leveled against him as baseless and false.
He further describes the acting officials as ingrates whose the ALGON boss has affected positively but been used by inexperienced politicians who are being intimidated by his performance and achievements especially in human empowerment, engagement and appointment.
The Secretary said the major offence the Council boss has committed was by appointing 46 Senior Special Advisers of which 31 are being paid from his Salary.
As at the time of this press release, all the appointees have paid their March Salary thereby causing supprises, acrimony and intimidation as their sponsors could not even afford to maintain 2 personal Assistants.
He urged the public especially lovers of the Council Boss to disregard the allegations, adding that the allegations should be treated as trash and that the Council boss cannot be distracted as he is committed and resolute in rescuing Ijumu.
